When I logout the desktop and use startx (user root) it starts a xfce desktop and with wpa_gui I can conntect to the wifi (shows my Wi-Pi as wlan1).
When starting the desktop as rpitc the wpa_gui does not show any wifi adapter.

So this is mainly a permission issue...

Brilliant tip. I did that but still had problems getting my Edimax to connect via wifi. It connected to my router but wouldnt get an IP. After installing wicd it did. Rebooted as usual and now it works! 7 days of frustration are over!

RE: RPi-TC 2 beta help needed!
Hi, just got my Pi2 and installed the latest beta of the RPITC. Great job! I do have one issue, so far: I use x2go client to connect to a CentOS 7 server. The connection works great, but if I am in full screen in x2go, when I log out of the CentOS server the screen goes completely black except for the mouse cursor. I can right click the desktop and get to programs, but when they open they are also all black. When I run x2go client in a window with, say 1024x768 reso, it logs out fine. Not sure if this is a setting issue or some kind of bug, but I thought I'd give you a heads up.

Keep up the great work!

Randall

I'm using XFCE. I've used the same configuration with the R-Pi B+ units with no problems in full screen as well as Windows systems using the x2go client.

Did you do a apt-get update / apt-get upgrade? There is an update for x2goclient, maybe this will solve the issue.
Also try to disable Compositor under Settings->windows-> compositor

Ill include an audio selector in the final release, already tested and working fine...
You need to exec:
amixer cset numid=3 2
