Delay startup program
Hi!

First of all, the beta image is working nice!

I customized a bit to startup only vmware at boot xfce,

but the boot process is finished faster then the internet connection can be established, wich gives an Vmware view connection error .

Is there a way to delay the start of vmware, of wait for boot xfce when there is a connection?

Google couldn't help me with this Sad

Thanks!

RE: Delay startup program
Hi,

easiest way will be a script that waits for the host is reachable.
The you have to start the script instead the vmware client during boot.

Something linke this to check if the host is up and if start an application:

Code:
#!/bin/bash
check_host()
{
ping -c 1 -W 1 "IPorHostname" &> /dev/null
if [ "$?" == "0" ]
then applicationyouwanttostart
else check_host
fi
}
check_host
You have to change IPorHostname and applicationyouwanttostart

But please be carefully, this can prevent your system to boot.
Haven't testet it.
