Hi,

great job!

Are you talking about 300 Mbit/s over lan or wifi?
Do not expect that speed on wifi.
Benchmarks shown about half the speed.
It also depends on the overall throughput of the usb controller and what is there connected else.

But still a huge improvement compared to the previous pi model.

Hello,

I'm new here. I'm planning to buy a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ soon and have the RPiTC v3 1.12 installed. For a project I'll be working.

However based from the post on this thread, the process is not just a straightforward install (dd image file to SD, then boot) ?
Is the RPiTC v3 1.12 not yet built to support Raspberry Pi 3B+ ?

But I buy a Raspberry Pi 3 now, RPiTC v3 1.12 should just work (including the wifi), right ?

Thank you in advance to anyone who can confirm.

Cheers!

if so?

I have managed to do the update on my previous pi and then put the SD card into the new raspberry pi 3 b+ and it works fine. below is what I did.

ran following commands,

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rpi-update
sudo rpi-update
sudo reboot

Did you get wifi working as well? If so I guess something is corrupt with my previous install. Also we had some issues with mouse and random disconnects on the 3b+

I also did the same in my 3B. Now the Micro SD works in the new 3B+ but WIFI doesn't work. Any idea why?

have you tried

wget https://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian/p...t3_all.deb
sudo dpkg -i firmware-brcm80211_20161130-3+rpt3_all.deb

i couldn't see any existing ethernet-adapter on my 3B+.

Finally i got it working with this:

edit this file: '/lib/udev/rules.d/73-usb-net-by-mac.rules'
where it says: 'IMPORT{builtin}="net_id", NAME="$env{ID_NET_NAME_MAC}"'
you change it to: 'IMPORT{builtin}="net_id", NAME="eth0"'

I found it here: https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Softwar...faceNames/

Unfortunately i didn't get the 300+ Mbit/s running yet.

Thank you Alec. I tried your way and it worked. However not for the first time. You should edit the 73-usb-net-by-mac.rules file before putting the sdcard into B+. Otherwise, it did not work in my case.

In the second attempt, I edited the file right after updating the firmware in the Pi 3B. Then rebooted Pi 3B and transferred the card into B+. It is working good now. However, I do not see any connection at the "Network Settings" tool and I couldn't start wifi either.
