Unable to boot RPi-TC ARRPi-TC ARMv6j Release 5
I've tried several times to boot using the image RPi-TC_ARMv6j_R5.img without success: nothing appears, blank screen.
I use dd, I have written the image using options bs=1M and bs=4M, but no success. I've configured the correct monitor resolution /boot/config.txt hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=82 config_hdmi_boost=4 no success. It works only as a ssh server. I can login via ssh but I'm unable to start "any" X session. Finally I've partially solved using only config_hdmi_boost=4 in /boot/config.txt. Now I've the graphical session. Mose dx menu is not working and, for now, I'm unable to set the correct resolution. The raspberry pi rel b is working and the sd is ok. I've just tried raspbian and everything works well. Some suggestion? Regards Michele Masè |

RE: Unable to boot RPi-TC ARRPi-TC ARMv6j Release 5
Are you using any kind of hdmi to vga adapter?
Do you wrote to the whole SD Card instead of a single partition? Because there is no know issue about what you describe. It should work out of the box without any hdmi settings of you are connected via hdmi. -= Feel Free to use the Search function in the upper right corner =-

The system is "fully networking working" but the system is lacking of base video support, except by using a poor resolution. I'm trying to solve it by manually changing the video resolution. A kernel upgrade and a os upgrade did not solved me the issue. I'm using a hdmi cable (no connectors) and the same system with raspbian is working. Only with hdmi_safe=1 i can see a base graphical screen. Now I'm playing with some combinations of hdmi_group= and hdmi_mode. Any better suggestion(s)? I'will try another cable tomorrow too. |

Partially solved with: disable_overscan=1 #yes, my display has a black border hdmi_force_hotplug=1 #now the display is detected But ... blank screen and I've tried: *kill x session via ctrl - alt - backspace *as root startx *and finally desktop is working, but only as root. So I can oly have a root session, not a user session. How can I have a working graphical user session? Some suggestions????? |

Ok, Solved with:
disable_overscan=1 #yes, my display has a black border hdmi_force_hotplug=1 #now the display is detected And rpitc now can start a x session; my filesystem was full. So: pls verify you filesystem is not full. Michele Masè |
