No GUI on boot
When starting the Client, I do get the text when booting.
Once booted I have black screen.
After pressing CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE I get a prompt.
then I can type "startx"
this gives me the root desktop.
after booting again ... no GUI for the user ...
what is not starting ? and where to check ?

Regards
QRT

RE: No GUI on boot
Hi qrt,

cause you arent new to rpitc i think it isn't a general problem and also worked before. Am i right?
Is your monitor shutting down or do you have a black screen while to monitor is still on?
The problem is it could be almost everything.
So what was the last you have done before the error appeared.

Is to just reflash your sd card an option?

RE: No GUI on boot
Monitor is on, it looks like gui is not started.
Flashing is an option, but would be nice to know why :-)

So what was the last you have done before the problem occurred?
Have you changed, installed or deinstalled anything?

RE: No GUI on boot
No nothing, unplugged the power and restarted
Not the most best thing to do but that's it.
I have still root access, so I can start looking in the logs what could be the problem.
but what log :-)

thank you in advance

RE: No GUI on boot
Try to have a look at the messages log.
/var/log/messages

In most cases this problem is related to the x conf or the gpu driver.
But because you can start the desktop as root this could normally not be your problem.
